About
I am a London-born designer and maker of printed textiles for the home, bringing a mix of mid-century-modern abstracts and geometric shapes onto high quality fabrics.
My designs start with research; in museums, galleries and collections, searching through artist imprints, while traveling. Always looking for moods, shapes and palettes within key 20th century moments in painting, sculpture, applied arts and the built environment.
All fabrics are hand-screen printed in small batches, in selected colour ways.
My work has sold at various pop-up events. Notably at the Turner Contemporary gallery shop in Margate and at makers shows in London and the South East. Since 2022, I have been a member of a successful design collective of makers, Brighter Days.
2025 events are announced on my Instagram page @janellisontextiles
Homewares
My product range focuses on lampshades and vintage lighting, but other home accessories will be added to the shop from time to time.
Fabrics are printed with water-based, eco-safe inks, heat fixed onto pure linen and cotton.
Bespoke
Occasionally I have space for bespoke commissions. Contact me for a conversation or to arrange a studio visit.
Studio
After a teaching career in London, I established my studio in the coastal town of Ramsgate, Kent in 2015.
